The UEK-3000 is a new 2.4GHz.Mode "S" downconverter from SSB Electronic.  The UEK-3000 is available in either a 144MHz. or a 432MHz. IF in order to meet the operating demands of all satellite operators.  Based upon our world class UEK-2000SAT downconverter, the UEK-3000 offers an even lower noise figure of <0.7dB and 30dB of conversion gain. There is absolutely no need to run a preamplifier with this downconverter.

RF-POWER PROTECTOR

Protect your Downconverter against reverse transmit power!

Very often a 2 - m transceiver is used in combination with a receive down converter.
 
THE BAD NEWS:  This is a dangerous setup because inadvertent transmission of RF-power can destroy the IF output circuit of the converter or in extreme cases damage semiconductors as well as the mixer.

THE GOOD NEWS: With our new RF - Power Protector you can instantly get rid of the problems!  This little unit measures only 1.5" x 1.5".  It is equipped with 2 N-connectors and requires no supply voltage. It must be installed between your downconverter and your transceiver.

The power protector absorbs up to 30 watts FM and up to 50 watts SSB allowing only a small harmless amount of RF power to reach the IF-output port of your downconverter.

The insertion loss in receive mode is close to nothing, typically 0.1 dB.

As an added bonus, even high power transceivers can't destroy your converter - if you place the "PROTECTOR" directly in the coax cable after the transceiver.  In transmit mode, the RF-Power Protector offers the transceiver a very high SWR which forces the VSWR Protection of the transceiver to switch down the power immediately!

In addition, the "PROTECTOR" features a DC-BYPASS which allows you to continue to remotely power your downconverter through your transceiver or our DCC-12N via the coax cable
